Winner of the Embroiderers’ Guild President’s Cup and Valerie Campbell Harding Prize for Innovation 2011

The Embroiderers Guild Challenge in 2011 provided me with an opportunity to explore the traditional technique of Or Nué, a form of couching, inspired by a work made by Margaret Nicholson. I reinterpreted the technique in a modern dynamic way by exploring its three dimensional spatial qualities while retaining the painstaking technical accuracy for which the technique is known.
